Instagram announced it has rolled out a new comment moderation feature in its refreshed mobile app for iOS and Android.
This feature lets you list words you consider offensive or inappropriate. Comments with these words will be hidden from your posts. You can choose your own list of words or use default words instagram has provided.
When a comment is filtered, it’ll be hidden from you, and will only be visible to the person who commented.
You can filter comments on your posts by default or custom keywords:
- Go to your profile and tap (iOS) or (Android) in the top-right.
- Tap Comments.
- Tap next to Hide Inappropriate Comments to filter comments using a default list of keywords, or enter custom keywords below Custom Keywords. Custom keywords can include any words, phrases, numbers or emojis you’d like to filter out, separated by commas.
- Tap Done.
Keep in mind that default and custom keyword filtering aren’t currently available in all languages:
-
Default Keywords: The default list of keywords is currently only in English, and contains the most common inappropriate and offensive words on Instagram, including profanity.
