Oops! The much anticipated #SATY (The South African of the Year Awards) have been postponed until 2017.

“The postponement is due to unforeseen regulatory circumstances that have materially impacted on logistics for the event. Regretfully this has left us with no choice but to seek a new date in the near future. We look forward to confirming a rescheduled date,” the Channel said.

But according to a report by TVSA this comes after ‘the EFF called for a boycott of the awards by audiences and the ceremony’s Top Billing hosts (Bonang, Jonathan Boynton-Lee and Jeannie D) because of the channel being owned by the Guptas’.

The awards ceremony was set to take place at the Ticketpro Dome (Johannesburg) on Friday, 25 November; hosted by Bonang Matheba ,Jeannie D and Jonathan Boynton-Lee.

There will be a new date to be announced!
