Gareth Cliff has called it quits.
It came as a shock or rather surprise when the popular TV/Radio star announced his resignation as a judge from the popular reality show -Idols SA. Gareth broke the news on Monday morning through social media, when he posted that this is his goodbye.
It’s time! After eleven seasons of Idols, it’s time for me to say goodbye. What better way to bring this chapter to a close than a trip to New York and meeting American Idols judge Harry Connick Jr and being on his post-Idols show – “Harry”.
Further to confirm the news; Idols SA confirmed the news with a statement on their website:
We can confirm Mr. Gareth Cliff’s resignation as a judge on Idols SA.
We are grateful for his contribution to the show over the last 11 seasons and we wish him well with his future endeavors.

Gareth has been on the judge panel of Idols SA for past 11 seasons together with Unathi, Randall and were all recently joined by Somizi.
