BURGER KING® is inviting South Africans to photograph their lunches and swap out those meals again on Black Friday, 25 November.
“Earlier this month, South Africans were submitting photographs of their lunches in the hope of swapping them for a WHOPPER®”, says Ezelna Jones, Marketing Executive for BURGER KING® South Africa.
“We saw bowls of two-minute noodles, slices of dry bread, and even bananas wedged between a bread roll. The response was overwhelming so we’re doing it again because Black Friday is growing in popularity locally, and everyone deserves another opportunity to eat a WHOPPER®.”
Black Friday was originally celebrated the day after Thanksgiving in America only with many stores launching their Christmas shopping promotions and extending their retail hours. Over the last few years, Black Friday sales and promotions have grown in popularity in South Africa. Unlike many brands who will slash the price of their products, BURGER KING® will be swapping out bad meals and rewarding participating consumers with WHOPPER®s.
Here is how to take advantage of the BURGER KING® #Swhopper again:
• Follow all of BURGER KING® South Africa’s social media platforms: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram;
• Take a photo on their phone of the meal they cannot bring themselves to eat and submit it for moderation. By uploading the photograph to the special site which BURGER KING® will steer consumers toward on the dates, the lunches will effectively be judged on aesthetic appeal. Please note, this site will only be operational on 25 November;
• If the team from BURGER KING® agree that the meal is a disappointment, a voucher will be sent via SMS to be redeemed at any BURGER KING® restaurant for a WHOPPER® within seven days;
• Head to the closest restaurant and present the #Swhopper code when ordering the WHOPPER®.
BURGER KING®’s WHOPPER® can be garnished in more than 220 000 different ways and is the number one burger on the menu worldwide thanks to its fresh ingredients and delicious taste.
