Netflix has just put on some good shows on their catalogue.
Even though South Africa doesn’t have access to a whole lot of new shows, we have checked out a number of shows which we think you will find interesting, ofcoz if you Netflix and Chill. Below are 5 shows you have to be watching:
Trevor Noah: Afraid of the Dark
Trevor Noah became famous as one of the correspondents for The Daily Show with John Stewart on Comedy Central. After Stewart retired in 2015, Noah became host of that program. But before appearing on that show, Trevor has been doing more stand-up comedy work. This film was recorded at the Beacon Theater in New York. His political humor goes from Brexit in Europe (England voting to withdraw from the European Union) to Barack Obama in the U. S. (coolest president ever). His casual humor goes from having a ‘wee-little’ drink in Scotland to the power of the vagina compared to the powerlessness of the penis.
Narcos – Season 2
The second season of Narcos, follows the story of notorious drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, who became a billionaire through the production and distribution of cocaine, while also focusing on Escobar’s interactions with drug lords, DEA agents, and various opposition entities.
Luke Cage Season 1
Luke Cage is one of the most popular street level heroes in the Marvel Universe who possesses superhuman strength and impenetrable skin. He’s also a friend and frequent business partner with Danny Rand aka Iron Fist, who will also be getting his own series on Netflix starring Finn Jones as the title hero.
Shooter Season 1
Shooter is based on the best-selling Bob Lee Swagger novel by Stephen Hunter, Point of Impact, and the 2007 Paramount film starring Mark Wahlberg. The TV series follows the journey of Bob Lee Swagger (Phillippe), a highly-decorated veteran who is coaxed back into action to prevent a plot to kill the President. When Swagger’s former commanding officer, Isaac Johnson (Epps), solicits his expertise for a clandestine operation, Swagger discovers that he has been framed and must do everything in his power to protect his family and clear his name.
Stranger Things Season 1
A love letter to the supernatural classics of the ’80s, Stranger Things is the story of a young boy who vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.
Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Millie Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin to mention a few.
