Trevor Noah is recently taking all the shine this year, and it’s been just 2 months.
It’s just a week ago when the news surfaced that Trevor has bought himself an apartment worth R130 million. And this week South Africans were surprised with March Edition of TIME covered by Trevor Noah. The South-African born comedian has been named as one of the ‘Next Generation Leaders’ by TIME magazine. The feature shares Trevor’s success from his early days of comedy to becoming the host of The Daily Show. From where it all began, whoever thought he would come top on the list and overshine American talent to be the host of a global TV show.
Even though people doubted him during his early days of the show, he still remained authentic and solid. ‘When I started, there was a lot of criticism around me not being angry. But what was there to be angry about? Progress was being made. Unemployment was dropping. Gay people were getting marriage equality. I refuse to be part of an outrage machine,’ Trevor tells TIME Magazine.
Since then Trevor has never looked backed, and has managed to increase international viewership for The Daily Show, reaching 176 countries ‘up from 70 before’.
The magazine further shares words about his new 2017 Netflix Show ‘Afraid of the Dark’ and latest book โBorn a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhoodโ, which launched in 2016.
The book shares Trevorโs life story from being by born by parents of a different race in a time when interracial relationships were illegal in South Africa.
Other subjects Trevor touches on includes; Donald Trump as the new president, family, global warming and immigration. Trevor shares the list with Oscar Ekponimo (Nigerian software engineer), Sebastian Kurz (Austrian politician) and Mathew Tyler Oakley an American YouTube star.
The issue is already available on shelves, so make sure to grab a copy and indulge.
