Celebrating Air Max month, Nike and YFM 99.2 partnered to bring you a sneaker-cultured radio show ‘Rebels on Air’.
The show brings together creatives and icons to share their journey in the culture and their undenied love for sneakers. This past Saturday (25 March), a day before the celebration of Air Max Day, the fourth episode invited Stacey Lee and Sibot as the rebels. And we really have to say, these two rebels both had their unique passion and craft. Stacey Lee has got mad love for cars and she is a drifter. As much as it might look as a male dominated industry, Stacey didn’t think twice when she started at the age of 16, taught by her father. She now has two titles 2015 and 2016 as The Queen of Smoke. Well just like being in the sports industry, she was a perfect fit to get on Nike’s Vapormax sneaker. Stacey says she loves how the sneaker is comfortable and will be perfect on her foot when she drives /drifts.
And another unique creative – Sibot. Now Sibot is no stranger to the music industry especially when it comes to being technical. He is a genius when is comes to bringing elements together and creating a dope sound. Even though he shared with the listeners that he wasn’t allowed to do music at school, he still found a way later to perfect the craft. Sibot has done work with Boyz n Buckz, Riky Rick , DieAntwoord to mention a few. Now when it comes to the shoe, he saw a bigger picture. Instead of putting it on, he decided to make it part of his robots invention that plays music. The robots were automated to play music and beats while displaying the shoe.
