Still raising the bar, Trevor Noah has just been awarded Best Host at the 2017 MTV Movie and TV Awards, for his duties as host of the Daily Show.
The awards ceremony took place Sunday night at Los Angeles. Noah dedicated his acceptance speech to his mother;
“There is one person I aspire to be every single day…..and that is my mom: a powerful, strong black woman who never listened when people told her she couldn’t be more.”
Trevor Noah was up against Ellen DeGeneres (The Ellen DeGeneres Show), John Oliver (Last Week Tonight with John Oliver), RuPaul(RuPaul’s Drag Race) and Samantha Bee (Full Frontal with Samantha Bee) on the category.
Other winners; “Stranger Things” was awarded ‘Show of the Year award’, “Beauty and the Beast” won Best Movie, “Fast and Furious” was awarded MTV Generation Award and Best Kiss award was awarded to Ashton Sanders and Jharrel Jerome of “Moonlight.”
