We recently got our hands on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and took it for a spin on the Nintendo Switch. You might have played it on Wii, DS, Gamecube or whatever, but Kart 8 Deluxe is just like a fresh fruit come from a tree.
The graphics are cleaner and crispy, the colors are so out and neat, and fits in so well for a spin on Nintendo Switch. You will notice that compared to the Wii version, Deluxe introduces the Battle Mode, a stage of taking on a battlefield with other racers.
Deluxe is packed with over 40 tracks to race on, characters, items and the 200cc mode and eight battlefields. What makes this game more exciting is playing it on Nintendo Switch. The screen accommodates the game perfectly, the controls are easier to reach, and you can even add multiple players which will share the screen, which can be abit of a downside for on such a small screen. In this case, you might need a bigger screen (TV, PC monitor..) so both players can get a comfortable ride.
Another downside about Deluxe is playing it with the Joy-Con Pair attached to the screen, the flexibility and curving become bit of a challenge. It’s either you can attach the Joy-Con Pair on the grip to get more comfortable or best way play with the Joy-Con Wheel Pair which gives you full control and the easy- steering wheel control. This makes it much better to take curves and race best.
Even though there aren’t much of challenges and achievement to snub on, you can still get messy on the Battle Mode which is so far our favourite and quite a challenge.
So our verdict on this, this is definitely a must have even if you had it on Wii, Nintendo Switch just makes it more fun and flexible.
