HBO has released the official trailer for Game of Thrones Season 7 trailer. The new season will return on HBO on 16 July.
Last year it was confirmed that the popular American fantasy drama series will end with Season 8. The news was confirmed by programming chief Casey Bloys through an announcement during a press tour at the Television Critics Association in Los Angeles stating,
“Yes, I think (showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss) have a very specific plan about the number of seasons they want to do. If I could get them to do more, I would take 10 seasons, but we want to take their lead with what they can do and what the best version of the show is.”
It is reported that the upcoming two shorter seasons – season 7 will consist of 7 episodes, and season 8 with 6 episodes.
The series premiered on HBO in the United States on April 17, 2011, and its sixth season concluded on June 26, 2016. The series was renewed for a seventh season, which is scheduled to premiere in mid-2017 with a total of seven episodes.
