Mr Cashtime K.O now has a new home – Sony Music Entertainment Africa.
He has officially signed with Sony, and that raises eyebrows and questions on what then with Cashtime….?
In an interview with Masechaba Ndlovu on Metro FM, he revealed that Cashtime will always remain because of the catalogue they have previously worked even though they will no be putting any new product under Cashtime. He further confirmed that Ma-E who is the co-founder of Cashtime and former manager Thabiso Khati have both embarked on their own journey.
Thabiso Khathi annouced his departure from Cashtime to start his new business, while Ma-E has went on to open a new label Ghanda Ghanda Productions.
On the move with Sony…
K.O revealed the move was to allow his music to be well exploited and reach all target territories up to Africa.
The new signing comes a brand new single ‘No Feelings’ from Mr Cashtime himself. The single is an opener to his upcoming second studio album which is expected later this year.
“This is the first and official single off my upcoming album dropping late 2017 and the title No Feelings simply means ‘take nothing personal’. For the first time I’ll be showing my fans a vulnerable side of me through song by touching on my frustrations, aspirations, the competition, naysayers, friendship and life in general…” shares K.O.
No Feelings is a high-energy record of raw raps laced with a semi-melodic esque that will enable K.O’s core fans see him exploring a different musical approach as opposed to his signature sound. The lyrics are centered around the status quo of SA urban culture where KO stands as a key player.
