1987 saw the birth of the Air Max lineage, showcasing visible Air for the first time. What began as an experiment in cushioning soon evolved into an icon on the track – and the streets. Over the years, it’s been reimagined and retooled, but the heritage always remains.
Its new build reduces the silhouette’s weight, highlights its signature lines in a single-layer upper and introduces new Air-Sole PSI levels to provide a more comfortable ride for daily wear.
Nike Air Max 97 Ultra ’17 “Silver Bullet”
Releasing Saturday, 09 September 2017 at:
- Shesha – (Sandton., Menlyn, Canal Walk, Eastgate, Mall of Africa, Melrose Arch & The Zone) – R2,599,99
- Shelflife (Joburg & Cape Town) and online – R2599.00
Although it looks similar to the ‘Silver Bullet’ rendition, this shoe does boast some unique features. On the sidewall, a gradient effect travels across with those hits of silver merging to black. That same fusion of colors makes an appearance to a padded tongue while a vibrant flash of red features to the Swoosh on the sidewall. A contrasting white midsole sits underfoot complete with a heel to toe Air Unit. It’s the perfect finishing touch to this modern transformation of an OG masterpiece.
Nike Air Max 97 Ultra ’17 “Metalic Gold Rose”
Releasing Saturday, 09 September 2017 at:
- Shesha – (Sandton., Menlyn, Canal Walk, Eastgate, Mall of Africa, Melrose Arch & The Zone) – R2,599,99
The Ultra model is constructed with sleek, flat side paneling instead of details standing in relief, which is typical for the original design. However, key features such as the wavy profile design, Air Max sole unit, and retro aesthetic remain intact, making the shoe as timeless as ever. This particular pink colorway of course showcases a rosy palette throughout, and also features a classic gum outsole.
