Rapper, Riky Rick has revealed his new music label ‘COTTON CLUB RECORDS.’
Through the label, Riky plans to give the up and coming acts an opportunity to shine. He further announced a partnership with Sony Music who expectedly will be the distributor and provide licensing.
“I created COTTON CLUB RECORDS with the vision of helping young talented artists break into the industry. My aim is to bridge the gap between the street way of making music and building a brand out of music,” Riky says.
Shedding light on the partnership of COTTON CLUB RECORDS with Sony Music, Riky Rick felt it made sense as both entities shared the same vision.
“Partnering with Sony is a blessing for us. The people in those offices understand what is important to an artist and they are not arrogant about bridging the gap. The relationship is beneficial both ways,” he said.
Here is the announcement by Riky:
It brings me great joy to announce that I have officially partnered up with Sony Music on my new label, COTTON CLUB RECORDS. Not too long ago I was making beats at my moms house dreaming of a day I would have just one BIG SONG. JUST ONE. Now that some of those dreams have come true I feel like its not enough to do it for myself alone. The next chapter of my life is dedicated to giving other talented kids an opportunity to SHINE. We always preach that hard work will take you places but honestly It would’ve been impossible to get where I am without key individuals helping me navigate my way through the game. From high school talent shows to Internet come ups, every dream is valid. This venture will challenge us at times but with your love and support, a challenge is nothing but a path to greatness. I love you all. You make this journey worth it.
This is a new journey for Riky Rick who recently parted ways with Mabala Noise after a high controversy which created a buzz in the local music industry.
