The first edition of Capsule Festival took place this past Saturday (16 September 2017) at Newtown’s Mary Fitzgerald Square.
The festival brought together SA’s young talent, local brands and a number of sporty activities. Brands; Nike, Reebok, Converse, Adidas were present and showcasing their latest collection of sneakers, merchandise, and cool activities for the fans.
Nike was showcasing their Air Force 1 range ahead of the 35th-anniversary celebration.
Adidas brought all their collection of NMDs, Tubulars and Classic Original merchandise and gave fans a free photoshoot.
Reebok which recently signed AKA, was showcasing their classic kicks and also running a competition to give away a range of their classics.
As expected Converse is very well-known for letting everyone express their creativity. They had a wall filled with Chuck Taylors and invited fans to come write their names or put on anything creative on them. Fans also got a chance to get their Converse kicks customized on the spot.
The music and fashion were major keys at the festival with everyone looking swaggish and seeing more of street culture fashion. The festival hosted 2 stages; the Mainstage and Waves stage (presented by Converse) – with super dupah performances from A$AP Ferg, Nasty C, AKA, Sho Madjozi, J Molley, Una Rams, Frank Casino and more.
