The most famous Nike Air Force 1 might have faded out of existence, but thanks to the city of Baltimore for saving the Air Force 1. In 1984, two years after its launch, Nike wasn’t planning to continue production of the shoe, until it noticed its mass popularity in the Eastern city.

To honor the city of Baltimore, Nike has partnered with artist Ed Piskor, to create a storytelling comic of how the Air Force 1 was saved by the city. In addition, Nike released a special SF-AF1 Mid dubbed “For Baltimore” which features notable “B’MORE” embroidered on the straps.
