Rouge’s ‘New Era Sessions’ short film will air on MTV Base.
The film which features entertainment heavyweights, Atandwa & Fikile Kani, the inimitable Denise Zimba and a debut appearance from Cassius Davids, is a South African first and will premiere on Channel 322 at 21:00.

The film captures the story of a young woman on her journey of self-discovery. The production is an immersion into her experiences as she deals with the highs and lows of falling in love, the delight of true friendship and the bitterness of betrayal.

The film stands as a testament to Rouge’s work ethic and creativity as an all-around artist. In an industry prone to overlooking female rappers, Rouge has created a body of work that will set the bar for all future music projects on the continent.

Here is the trailer of the film:

“I wanted to give listeners and viewers something different, something memorable… and also perhaps, an insight into what motivates me, what drives my narrative and my music. I really hope my fans enjoy it and it connects them to my message and through that, me to them. An artist is defined by her fans, and I am grateful for – and blessed by – their love and support,” said Rouge.
