Following the release of its collaboration with Daniel Ting Chong, this time Shelflife has linked up with Dr.Zulu for a full clothing range inspired by 80s/90s BMX.
Dr.Zulu aka DR.Z is an internationally established artist, designer, and entrepreneur. With formal training in Industrial Design and a visual background in graffiti and street art, Dr. Z has collaborated with many major brands including Nike, Puma, New Balance and K-Swiss. For this release, Dr. Zulu took inspiration from the late 80s & 90s – the golden era of BMX.
The range includes tracksuits, tees, and panel caps, all of which is unisex and features the signature DrZ lightning bolts.
The Shelflife x Dr Zulu 10 Year Anniversary Colab will release at Shelflife (Joburg & Cape Town) and online on Thursday, 07 October 2017 at 6pm.

Dr Zulu X Shelflife – BMX Tracksuit Top – R1099.00 – Sizes: S, M, L, XL
This vintage inspired colour block jacket is made with a lightweight crinkle nylon and mesh tracksuit liner to match what was popular in the 90’s. Its a boxy fit with elasticated cuffs and a draw cord that features metal eyelets. We have custom developed the neck rib with a local textile mill as well as embroidered the signature DrZ front lightning bolts and Shelflife logo on the back. Proudly made in South Africa.
Dr Zulu X Shelflife – BMX Tracksuit Pant – R599.00 – Sizes: S, M, L, XL
This pant matches the tracksuit top to complete the full BMX track racing look inspired by the 90’s. It is a tapered slim fit featuring lightweight crinkle nylon and a tracksuit mesh lining. The waistband and cuffs are elasticated and feature metal eyelets while there are the signature embroidered DrZ lightning bolts. Proudly made in South Africa.

The Long sleeve stripe tee is a custom rotary printed stripe made of 100% combed cotton. It features the DrZ signature lightning bolts on the front and elastic rib cuffs. Proudly made in South Africa.

The BMXXX graphic tee features a half tone screen print on the front with signature embroidered DrZ lightning bolts on the sleeve and DrZ X Shelflife logo on the back. The t shirt is made from 100% combed cotton.
Dr Zulu X Shelflife – 5 Panel Cap – R299.00 – Size: Adjustable clip
Our 5 panel cap is made from a lightweight ripstop and features side panels that match the mesh tracksuit lining found in the DrZ Tracksuit. The cap features the embroidered Shelflife “SL” logo on the front, with the signature DrZ lightning bolts on one side while the other side has the DrZ logo. The cap is finished off with our “S” fold over tab and an adjustable clip. Proudly made in South Africa.
