DJ Capital decided to surprise his fans with a brand new single titled ‘Skebe Dep Dep.’
The party track features rap royalty Reason, KiD X and Kwesta. True to DJ Capital’s style, today he drops Skebe Dep Dep together with the music video.
“Skebe Dep Dep is an old school reference to a dance that was done in Sophiatown. After Kwesta had used the words “Skebe Dep Dep” we found it catchy and decided to name the song after that”, explained DJ Capital.
For the On Me hit-maker, the visuals for Skebe Dep Dep had to reflect the neighbourhood he grew up in.
“We shot the video in Katlehong. It was important to shoot in the East Rand because all of us are from there. We decided to shoot the video documentary style and show love to the hood,” said DJ Capital.
Releasing a song at this time of the year is never an easy feat but DJ Capital is not new to the game.
“Working with Kwesta and KiD X at this time of the year is incredible for me especially because Kwesta has had a fire two years with the recent hit being Spirit. KiD X had been quiet for some time but he’s now out with a banger of a track called Aunty. They have both been friends of mine for years. It just made sense to work with them,” explained the versatile DJ.
