Instagram is taking the social game to the next level…
Well, they’re currently working (testing) on a new private messaging app ‘Direct,’ that will transform how people share private messages.
Now, this means users will soon be sharing messages separately and not in the main Instagram app.
The app is currently available in Chile, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Turkey and Uruguay.
In a statement they say…
โWe want Instagram to be a place for all of your moments, and private sharing with close friends is an important part of that. Direct has grown within Instagram over the past four years, but we can make it even better if it stands on its own. We can push the boundaries to create the fastest and most creative space for private sharing when Direct is a camera-first, standalone app.โ

When on the app, you’ll be welcomed with a camera screen (which you can pull down) and two more. You also see a screen which is for typing messages, the other for settings and last for the inbox messages…. and other features like filters.
It’s not yet confirmed if the app will see a global release or not….
