While Drake’s “God’s Plan” is making waves, word on the street is Drake might be dumping Nike for adidas.
Hypebeast reports that the rapper is unhappy with his Jordan Brand partnership and is seeking a deal more to his liking.
Taking it back to 2013, Kanye West made a major move from Nike to join adidas and was rumored that it was due to the brand’s refusal to give the rapper creative control over his Air Yeezy product line and pay him royalties as part of his compensation package.
Well, if Drake’s deal goes through he will join Kanye West, Pharrell Williams and Pusha T who are part of the Three Stripes brand.
The rapper first signed with Jordan in December 2013 and has steadily launched sneakers and apparel with the brand since. The last of these releases came during the 2018 NBA All-Star Weekend when two pairs of Air Jordan 8s made in collaboration with his OVO brand arrived alongside matching apparel.
