South African record company Native Rhythms one of South Africa’s integrated entertainment companies is taking a bold step by releasing five artists in one month and embarking on a massive self-funded tour to promote the albums.
The company which prides itself in producing quality music and through their hard work have seen albums going double platinum. Native Rhythms is the home of multi-award winning musicians in the Afro Soul and Afrocentric Hip Hop genres such as the likes of The Soil, Zakwe, Siphokazi, Zuluboy, Camagwini but to name a few.
Native Rhythms is set to release five albums in the month April 2018 with an immediately South Africa tour to promote these albums. Native Rhythms, which signed a label deal with Universal in 2016 has already released a few artists under the new deal such as Tribute Birdie Mboweni, The Soil, Jobie Clarke and Siseko Pame.
So which 5 lucky artists will get an opportunity to release their albums through Native Rhythms?
SOBANTWANA– A singer-songwriter that has managed to tackle the most difficult day-to-day life stories of ordinary people, she is assured of longevity in music. Her music and soul piercing lyrics, fused with eclectic soul, jazz, and audible ethno-trad harmonies, speaks for those who want to be heard.
JONNY JOBURG -A rapper extraordinaire, with a fascinating ability to paint vivid pictures with words, Jonny Joburg is miles ahead of his peers and the first South African emcee to debut a music video on P. Diddy’s Revolt Tv Network in the U.S.
LINOMTHA – A musician with an authentic voice, tasteful, poetic and an imaginative writing style tell of an artist that has really come of age.
KOMMANDA OBBS – A skillful rapper who has mastered the sound of Basotho from the Mountain Kingdom by fusing the urban contemporary ‘hip-hop’ beat and groove synced with his distinct, unavoidable growling yet melodic voice.
MZAMO – An actor on the popular drama series Rhythms City and singer who oozes confidence for days and has a voice to show for.
