Instagram now allows its users to download a copy of their data.
This simply means users are able to have a copy of everything they shared on the platform. The features comes in time when it will help Instagram comply with upcoming European GDPR privacy law that requires data portability.
“We’ll email you a link to a file with your photos, comments, profile information and more. We can only work on one request from your account at a time, and it may take up to 48 hours to collect this data and send it to you,” Instagram says.
Users can use the Data Download tool by heading to Privacy and Security found in Settings menu on Instagram.com or head to instagram.com/download/request.
