SABC 1 will air the funeral service of Akhumzi Jezile.
The broadcast will air from 9am till 11am. The service will take place 05 May 2018 at Rhema Bible Church.
Akhumzi passed away in a fatal car accident on Saturday, 28 April 2018. Their untimely passing is met with complete shock and unbearable sorrow by all who worked and interacted with them.
Akhumzi started his career at SABC 1 as a charming presenter of one of Mzansi’s most-loved children show, “YO TV” in 2007. From his first day on-air, the channel knew it had found a gem and knew for sure it was a gem worthy to be kept.
The multi-talented Akhumzi started to slowly spread his skills by getting into acting and producing various programmes for SABC 1 as well as WTFTumi on SABC3.
He also featured on Tempy Pusha on SABC1 where he scooped the South African Film & Television Award (SAFTA) for best supporting actor in a TV Drama for his role as Ngulube. At the time of his death, Akhumuzi was a Producer for Live Amp series on SABC1.
