Musa Sukwene has released his third studio album titled ‘MUSA.’
Now on his third album, since winning the Idols SA reality talent search, Musa proves his staying power on this self-titled release.
The album features New Works with Tsepo Tshola & Khanyo Maphumulo and poetic work from Toza Buthelezi, Sbu Da Poet & Puno Selesha.
Armed with a mighty voice that is able to calm wars and fuel the creation of love, fire is ignited each and every time he comes into contact with a microphone.
His piercing yet melodic vocal chords often leave one in a state of limbo as he feeds the soul and connects with the hearts of music lovers.
MUSA, the album, is an authentic umbrella of all types of afro-pop sounds that the ear can comprehend, resulting in an eargasm explosion of sounds and pulled heart strings from the music.
Looking over the 12-track album, Musa says his biggest objective was to showcase the different shades of South African music and influences over the generations.
He dabbles in pop, jazzy influences and everything else in between. His first single, ‘Ngivumele’ is a soulful afro-pop love ballad which speaks on love and one letting go and allowing themselves to be loved and adored. The song is but just a tip of the iceberg of what he has brewed. Musa worked with Ntsika Ngxanga (of The Soil fame) and world renowned producer, Lawrence Matshiza.

He also collaborated on a couple of songs including a song which he dedicated to the late iconic Hugh Masekela featuring Khanyo Maphumulo and another with the legendary People’s Poet, Tsepo Tshola.
He named the album MUSA to mark the milestone project that he started from scratch and brought to life.
