Please note: The earlier post confirming Virgil Abloh, Tom Misch, Burna Boy performing in South Africa for Black Coffee #MusicIsKing Concert has been removed. Even after the @MusicIsKingLive confirmed the lineup earlier today with a poster showing the above artists, we were requested by the PR for the Concert to take down the post.
UPDATE (19/09): Soulistic Music, today together with U-Live Africa (a division of Universal Music Group), announced the inaugural Music Is King Concert set to take place at the 20 000 pax TicketPro Dome in Johannesburg this December.
Taking place at the Ticketpro Dome on December 15th, Music Is King sets the stage for a concert of international proportion.
Just a few months ago Black Coffee shared plans of doing a collaboration with Virgil Abloh, the designer, DJ and creative genius behind the Off-White label.
The DJ revealed that he and Virgil had a chat about doing ‘Black Coffee x Virgil Abloh’ experience that will have them play together doing some crazy house parties in different cities.
Fast forward to today, we now have what looks to be solid evidence that we will be seeing the Black Coffee and Virgil Abloh “WHITE COFFEE” experience happening later this year. Black Coffee took it to Twitter to reveal his South African Summer Wishlist and that includes “A Show at the Dome with Virgil Abloh and Tom Misch.”
We cannot ignore the special relationship of both Virgil and Black Coffee and we strongly believe that this could be a possible plan. Black Coffee will wrap up his 20-show residency in Hï Ibiza in October 2018.
Tom Misch
In a recent interview with Complex, Black Coffee did confirm he is working to get Tom Misch to South Africa for a show, right after applauding him for his unique sound.

“He is bringing something so bigger than how young he is. He is bringing something much more deeper that I feel like is balancing the industry out. I’m actually trying to get him to South Africa to perform. ”
A show at the Dome…back in March, Black Coffee signed a massive partnership deal with Hunter’s. Even though it was not revealed how much the deal is worth, we have not seen a bigger picture of the deal, except a number of shows Hunter’s hosted with Black Coffee. This progressive campaign partnership will see Hunter’s fans gaining access to one of a kind experiences and exclusive opportunities revealed throughout the campaign.
A ‘strong rumour’ on the streets is – Black Coffee and Hunter’s will shut down the TicketPro Dome with a one-night experience show somewhere in December 2018.
Indeed if it is real, this would make a perfect sense, about partnership and the wishlist Black Coffee posted on social media.
Although nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, stay tuned for more details when they become available.
