In continuing reinvention of the Running System (RS), PUMA will be releasing the RS-X range. The all-new RS-X extends the brand’s Future Retro range that takes inspiration from the past to inspire future Sportstyle designs.
Back in the ‘80s, the RS was an innovative and high-quality cushioning technology. PUMA has revived and reinvented this design ground up. The new RS-X range is all-things extreme, exaggerated and remixed. Embracing the future and honouring the past, the OG-inspired silhouette celebrates extreme reinvention with its bulky design, material mixes, and bold colour palette.
The first sneaker in the RS-X range to drop is the RS-X Reinvention. The shoe is engineered with PUMA’s patented RS Technology on the midsole, it features a mesh and textile upper complete with leather and suede overlays. For comfort, the shoe is fitted with a moulded sockliner. The colour palette — white, blue, red and black — is based on classic sneakers from PUMA’s archive.
PUMA will continue to add more silhouettes to their RS-X range, releasing in the following months through 2019, with new iterations inspired by everything from toys, television, telecommunication to motoring. One of the most anticipated releases of the year is the collaboration with Mattel and Hot Wheel, bringing to life the most iconic toy cars reimagined in the RS-X silhouette in time for Hot Wheels’ 50th anniversary. Equally exciting is the collaboration with telecoms giant Motorola that speaks to the reinvention of technology in and beyond the sneaker world.
Look out for the PUMA RS-X Reinvention to release on Thursday, 01 November 2018 at PUMA SELECT (Joburg & Cape Town), X-Trend and Madaiza stores. The retail price is set at R1999.
