10 Most streamed Local Artists & Songs on Spotify

Spotify has shared its list streamed by South Africans since it launched in March 2018.

The top three most streamed SA artists since launch, broke down by ‘streamed in South Africa’ and the ‘rest of the world’, are Nasty C, AKA and Jeremy Loops. Shekhinah was at number six, making her the most streamed female South African artist. DJ Maphorisa claimed the ninth spot as the most streamed South African artist, with Fokofpolisiekar at number 10.

 

 

Drake appeared a further four times on the list of Spotify’s Top Global Songs of Summer 2018 (northern hemisphere). He also consistently dominates the top 10 most streamed songs by South African audiences list since Spotify’s March, 13th South African launch with God’s Plan at number one, In My Feelings at number three and Nice For What at number six. Girls like You by Maroon 5 (feat. Cardi B) came in second on the global summer list and featured at number 10 on the top songs streamed by South African audiences since launch rankings.

*Data was ranked based on number of streams, on Spotify, over the period 13 March – October 2018.
