Netflix’s new series ‘Queen Sono’ to star Pearl Thusi

In 2019, Netflix proves to be heading for more local content to appeal more to Africans and ofcourse to take on Dstv, Showmax.
Definitely, this comes as no surprise and we have discussed this in our recent #YMZTechTalk podcast.

Now it has been revealed that Netflix has called on Kagiso Lediga and Pearl Thusi for a new original series expected to debut in 2019.

The series is titled “Queen Sono,” and will see Pearl Thusi star the role of a spy in a South African agency – taking on dangerous missions.

It seems, in this case, Kagiso Lediga will be directing the series.

Both Pearl Thusi and Kagiso Lediga have worked together on a romantic/comedy film ‘Catching Feelings’ which released ealrier this year.

The film also made it’s a way to Netflix archive straight after theatre release.
