Boston-based Concepts has linked up with Nike Skateboarding once again to release the “Purple Lobster” Nike SB Dunk Low.
Since 2008, CONCEPTS x Nike SB collaborations have been lauded by the sneaker community. The iconic partnership began with the launch of the now famous Red Lobster SB Dunk, followed by an equally sought after Blue Lobster one year later.
“Initially, I felt we shouldn’t touch the theme again. It was a moment. We celebrated it. We loved it,” shares Concepts creative director Deon Point. “Ten years later, I’m in more Lobster conversations than I can believe. Kyrie and Jason Tatum are wearing versions on the court, Sue Bird in the WNBA, too. It’s like this whole movement.”
This month, the scheme returns to its original Dunk base but in a new purple makeup that adds fuel to the flame. Dressed in a Voltage Purple and Court Purple colour scheme. This Nike SB Dunk Low features a Purple-based upper highlighted with a Red checkerboard liner. Other details include a White padded tongue atop a Black midsole and Purple rubber outsole.
The sneakers come in a specially designed CONCEPTS box, with three sets of Shoelaces and two sets of Lobster Claw Rubber Bands.
Look out for the Concepts x Nike SB Dunk Low “Purple Lobster” to release on Monday, 17 December 2018 online via Nike.com, for the retail price of R1,499.95.
