WHILE THE HI-TEC SNEAKER BRAND, HTS74, PLANS ITS LAUNCH ONLINE ON JACKLEMKUS.COM, IT IS BY NO MEANS THE BEGINNING OF A NEW PARTNERSHIP. IN FACT, THE TWO BRANDS HAVE A UNIQUE HISTORY SPANNING OVER 44 YEARS.
HTS BADWATER 146 ABC OG (R1899.00)
It was in the 1930’s that the Lemkus family established Lemkus and Pentagon Sports. In the late 70’s they were the chosen supplier and first distributors of the infamous Hi-Tec squash, launched by van Wezel in 1974. Brad Lemkus, following his strong retail roots, decided to relaunch the brand in South Africa through a joint venture in 1985 with Frank van Wezel. As such JACK LEMKUS pioneered the brand in South Africa firmly, establishing HI-TEC as the household name it is known to be today. In fact, Brad Lemkus ran the London Marathon in his classic silver shadows, now part of the modernised retro collection.
Hi-Tec Sports SA will be releasing new styles from the global comeback collection, HTS74 (74 marking the year the company was founded in Shoeburyness, England, by Frank van Wezel). A team of young talent has been brought together to relaunch the brand by establishing HTS74; a premium sneaker line and acknowledgement of Hi-Tec’s legacy.
HTS BADWATER 146 ABC OG (R1899.00)
The second collection from the line was built upon models from the brand’s forgotten classics in the 80’s, updated with new technologies. The silhouettes in the collection include the Badwater 146 with the ABC concept, the Flash Adventure Racer and (OG) Silver Shadow with the updated lightweight Vibram® RGS sole. The sneakers are all available in premium suede and colour palettes of neutral pink, grey and eye-catching red, green and purple.
The collection is now available at JACK LEMKUS and online www.jacklemkus.com.
