The much-awaited local movie, Matwetwe will release this week in local cinemas.
The movie is now at its peak as many South Africans cannot wait to see this tasty local production. Matwetwe was privately screened last year and will debut at cinemas on Friday, 25 January 2019.
The movie is a collaborative work of Kagiso Lediga who is the director, and Black Coffee who comes as the executive producer.
Matwetwe tells a story of Lefa and Papi, best friends and recent high school graduates, on the hustle of their young lives. Over the course of one action-packed New Years Eve in the iconic township of Atteridgeville, the boys try to score a huge deal, dodge a king pin gangster and his violent minions, get the girl and ultimately save their lives in this hilarious and sometimes very serious escapade.
Cast includes; Sibusiso Khwinana (Lefa), Tebatso Mashishi (Papi), Anastasia Augustus (Agnes), Lungile Cindi (Les), Mbeko Cindi and Karabo Dikolomela to name a few.
Kagiso Lediga has written and directed noteworthy shows/movies including the cult classic the Pure Monate Show, Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola, and 2018 romantic film, Catching Feelings.
