It’s great to see local streaming service putting their money in more local content.
In this case, Showmax will bring it’s third original Trippin’ With Skhumba’ – after breaking records with both Tali and The Girl From St Agnes.
Trippin’ With Skhumba’ is a travel show, where we will see local comedians give Skhumba an insider’s guide to their hometowns. Guests who will be featured on the show include; Celeste Ntuli, Tumi Morake, Siya Seya and more.
The show is produced by Diprente (‘Late Nite News With Loyiso Gola’, ‘Queen Sono’) and directed by Vincent Moloi (‘Tjovitjo’, ‘Skulls Of My People’).
Trippin’ With Skhumba will debut on Showmax on 28 February 2019, with new episodes every Thursday – each episode will be 30-minute long.
The first season will end with an hour-long stand-up special, featuring Skhumba and his guests, as well as one new comedian from each hometown visited.
