For those who haven’t watched ‘Surviving R. Kelly,’ the docu-series will be hitting your screens from tonight, Wednesday, 06 February until 10 March 2019.
Surviving R. Kelly premieres tonight on Crime+Investigation, DStv channel 170 with a double bill at 20:00 and at 20:50 and thereafter there will be one episode per week.
The 6-episode series includes over 50 interviews with victims and people from R. Kelly’s inner circle, revealing new allegations about the sexual, mental and physical abuse they’ve suffered. Included in the interviews are Tarana Burke, musicians John Legend and Sparkle, talk show host Wendy Williams, ex-wife Andrea Kelly, and brothers Carey and Bruce Kelly.
The documentary has since then sparked a social media uproar with #SurvivingRKelly hashtag.
Many Twitter users have expressed their anger towards R. Kelly’s alleged behaviour towards young women, some even went as far as calling on fans to stop listening and supporting his music.
