Apple has cancelled its wireless charger ‘AirPower’ after months of strong speculations.
The company announced the news in a statement seen by Techcrunch.
โAfter much effort, weโve concluded AirPower will not achieve our high standards and we have cancelled the project. We apologize to those customers who were looking forward to this launch. We continue to believe that the future is wireless and are committed to push the wireless experience forward.โ
The AirPower was announced back in 2017 at their September event. The company has not since said much about the product, even though it was shown as part of their picture when advertising the AirPods 2.
Apple recently released the new AirPods with improved features and they are simply dubbed the second generation.
The new AirPods donโt really do much on the checklist, except for the with 50% more talk time, the wireless charging case, and hands-free โHey, Siriโ.
They come built with the new H1 chip which improves the performance, audio experience, faster connect time to iPhone and other devices and deliver up to 50 percent more talk time compared to first generation AirPods.
