This week we have picked the much-awaited Godzilla: King of the Monsters as our movie of the week.
Pursued as the sequel to Godzilla (2014) and the 35th in the Godzilla franchise, the film is directed and co-written by Michael Dougherty.
Dougherty brings a solid cast which includes heavy names like Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Bradley Whitford to name a few.
The movie is an epic action-adventure that pits Godzilla against some of the most popular monsters in pop culture history. The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths—rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters will debut in cinemas on 31 May at Ster-kinekor cinemas.
