Google is celebrating sports with a special doodle to mark the kick-off of the FIFA Women’s World Cup today.
Anyone who uses Google today will see a colourful doodle with ‘Google’ letters in green and illustrations of female soccer players from different teams. Doodle will capture the local excitement of the World Cup competition as well as what soccer means to the guest artist personally.
The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup kicks off today till 7 July 2019 and will have 24 countries compete, with the final match in the biggest Women’s World Cup yet taking place on July 7th in Lyon, France.
The World cup will kick off with France v South Korea. African teams which will take part include; Cameroon, Nigeria and South Africa.
Using Google Assistant and the search, fans will be able to follow real-time match updates.
