FNB confirms extra money in customers accounts

And ‘transactional accounts have been resolved’.

FNB customers woke up to find extra money in their accounts on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Customers accounts were fattened with hundreds and thousands of rands – which the bank confirmed it was a mistake and were due to delayed transactions for purchases.

“We can confirm that the issue of incorrect balances on some of our customers’ transactional accounts have been resolved. The incorrect balances were due to delayed debit card transactions for purchases. Sincere apologies to impacted customers for the inconvenience caused”, FNB posted on Twitter.

 

 

Since then some of the transactions have been reversed by the bank.

FNB confirmed it will be getting in touch with customers who were impacted.
“Due to client confidentiality, we will be communicating directly to impacted customers. FNB apologises to impacted customers for the inconvenience,” Daniel Kaan, from the bank’s transactional banking division told Fin24.
