Netflix’s latest movie Murder Mystery by Adam Sandler has pulled in some massive viewership numbers.
The comedy film which debuted this past week was watched by over 30 million accounts. Netflix confirmed the number when they unexpectedly posted the figures on Twitter.
30,869,863 accounts watched Murder Mystery in its first 3 days – the biggest opening weekend ever for a Netflix Film. 13,374,914 accounts in the US and Canada, and 17,494,949 more worldwide, @NetflixIsAJoke shared.

And how can we not mention that South Africa’s very own, John Kani is on the movie alongside Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, Luke Evans, Gemma Arterton and Luis Gerardo Mendez to name a few.
In the movie, Adam Sandler, a NYC cop takes his wife (Jennifer Aniston) on a vacation, a chance meeting on the flight with a mysterious man (Luke Evans) gets them invited to an intimate family gathering on the Super Yacht of elderly billionaire Malcolm Quince. When Quince is murdered, they become the prime suspects in a modern day whodunit.
According to Variety, the streaming service signed a four-movie deal with Adam Sandler back in 2015, and doubled down with a deal for another 4 movies in 2017.
