Grown-ish famous actress, Halle Bailey has been announced to play the lead role of Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid live-action movie adaptation.
Jacob Tremblay will play Flounder, Ariel’s best friend who is a fish, while Awkwafina will play Scuttle, the seagull friend of the princess.
Rob Marshall (Mary Poppins Returns) will direct the movie which features a script by David Magee.
The Little Mermaid originally debuted in 1989 as an animated musical romantic fantasy movie. The movie grossed $84 million at the domestic box office during its initial release and $233 million in total lifetime gross worldwide.
