DJ Sliqe has dropped a surprise a new 2 track EP titled “Kennel Room.”
The release follows his 2016 debut album, Injayam Vol. 1, which was a success and well received.
The brief project which he fondly terms the ‘Jiggy Tape’ is an ode to the streets and a dedication to avid local hip hop lovers who yearn for a fresh sound.
Featuring 6th Ave, Farx, Yanga Chief and Zingah, the EP is merely a tease of what Sliqe has been cooking up in studio in preparation for Injayam Vol. 2. “My Blood” featuring Farx, Yanga Chief and Zingah is the perfect template for ‘jig’ as it houses artists with diverse textures in their very cadence, character, and flows.
“Crickets” on the other hand can easily be termed ‘new age jig’ as it displays an undeniably smooth trap jig delivered by 6th Ave who stuns on the bouncy yet dreamy production by Lunatik.
Known to be a man with aces up his sleeve, Sliqe recently took some time to delve deeper into production which birthed this project, along with more of the music slated for his pending album.
“Almost damn near cried when I saw this artwork cause it speaks volumes in terms of where I’m at in life. Now more than ever after the year break I took to learn how to produce ALONE, I’m more confident in my music and my overall direction in life.”
“Producing gives me the pleasure of bringing the actual idea I have in my mind to life, not a rendition of my original idea,” says the multi-talented DJ.
