The Legendary designer Tinker Hatfield pioneered the design for many notable Nike silhouettes, and one of the most outstanding silhouettes in his archives is the Air Max 1.
The shoe has released numerous times in different colourways, with (Red/White and Royal/White) being the most famed colour schemes.
For 2019, the Swoosh brand is releasing the “Sketch” and “Schematic” versions of the Air Max 1 – inspired by Tinker Hatfield‘s original illustrations.
The “Sketch” pair is dressed in White/University Red, and the “Schematic” pair is dressed is Black/White.
The White/University Red “Sketch”
Its University Red mudguards and Swooshes on the sides are barely drawn in while having matching tongue tabs. His signature is spotted on the heels, with “Sketch, Property of Nike, Not For Resale” printed on the sockliner. Finishing off the design are sketch lines printed on the translucent outsole.
The “Black Schematic”
This rendition of the shoe features White markings, branding, as well as Hatfield’s signature on the heel completed with text on the sockliner that reads “Sample, Property Of Nike, Not For Resale.”
Look out for both shoes to release on Saturday, 20 July 2019 online via Nike.com for the retail price of R2,399.95 each.
