Issa Rae’s hit series ‘Insecure’ which has been pushed till 2020 is still cooking.
The show creator, Issa Rae gave an update that the script is still in the works and will begin shooting in September. More exciting, unlike past three seasons which only had 8 episodes per, the new season will bring 10 episodes, Deadline confirms.
Earlier this year it was confirmed that Insecure won’t be back for Season 4 until 2020, and it’s because Issa Rae is pursuing a new comedy series, A Black Lady Sketch Show.
Robin Thede and Issa Rae executive-produce the series featuring narrative sketches from a core cast of black women and celebrity guests.
A Black Lady Sketch Show is a narrative series set in a limitless magical reality full of dynamic, hilarious characters and celebrity guests. The show presents sketches performed by a core cast of black women, including Robin Thede, Ashley Nicole Black, Gabrielle Dennis and Quinta Brunson. From the trailer we also see appearances by Angela Bassett, Loretta Divine, Amber Riley, Patti LaBelle, Kelly Rowland, Deon Cole, Yvette Nicole Brown, and Issa Rae.
A Black Lady Sketch Show will debut on 02 August on HBO.
