STREAM: Burna Boy’s pursues Afrofusion with new album ‘African Giant’

Naija superstar, Burna Boy has released his much-awaited album ‘African Giant’.

The album is packed with 19 tracks which includes already released jams; Anybody, Killin Dem, Gbona, On The Low and Dangote.

Featured guests on the album include; Jorja Smith, Jeremih, Serani, Damian Marley, Angelique Kidjo, Future, YG to name a few.

With this album, Burna Boy takes it to the next level, pursuing “Afrofusion” — the rich blend of Afrobeats, hip-hop, dancehall and R&B. And you can tell by just the featured artists, that he wanted to achieve a versatile, yet wholly groove to entice anyone who takes a listen to the entire tracklist.

“I would find myself being inspired by things that I’ve heard as a kid: Nigerian music or African music, some French music or some Jamaican music.” That education is reflected in the rich and adventurous Afrofusion that he makes today—not that he wants to take all the credit for it.

“When it’s time for music to be made, it’s almost like my ancestors just come into me and then it’s them,” he says.
