Idols SA star Thami Shobede has passed away at age 31

Idols SA star, Thami Shobede passed away on Thursday after being admitted at the hospital.
Aged 31, Shobede was admitted in hospital after collapsing during a performance on stage at the weekend, EWN reports.

In a statement by Gallo Record Company, it is revealed that Shobede was suffering from an illness and complications.

 

 

Gallo Record Company is extremely saddened and shocked to learn of the sudden passing of one of our artists Simphiwe Thamsanqa Shobede, fondly know as Thami.

It came to our attention this morning that he was in hospital suffering from an illness and complications. His family went to see him in Atteridgeville hospital, where he passed away some time just before noon this morning, Thursday 12th September 2019.

Idols SA and Mzansi Magic also sent out a short statement:

“As Mzansi Magic and Idols SA, we are saddened by the passing of our former Idols SA contestant, Thami Shobede, a very talented musician with lots still to offer to the music industry.”

The singer with the velvet voice and Season 12 Idols SA runner up was only 31 years of age.
