The Leonardo in Sandton is Africa’s tallest building – with penthouses, 254 apartments & more

The Leonardo Building now marks the tallest building in Africa at the height of 234 metres (768 ft), overtaking the famous Carlton Centre building which opened back in 1972 as a hotel owned by Anglo American.

 

 

According to Bloomberg, the Leonardo will open next month, housing 254 apartments, a three-floor, six-bedroom penthouse, five floors of office space, and a large retail area at the bottom floor. In addition, the building will feature hotel services and you can expect one-bedroom apartments to be charged out at R7,250 a night or R54,000 a month.

Developed by The Legacy Group together with Nedbank Group Ltd, the three-billion rand building will include a spa, pool deck, gym, office suites, conference facilities, a children’s creche.
