South Africa’s very own Nomzamo Mbatha has joined the cast of ‘Coming 2 America’ which continues from 1988 comedy.
Details about her role in the movie are still under wraps at the moment.
Garcelle Beauvais also comes to join the cast for the sequel.
The “Coming to America” sequel is being written as a vehicle for Eddie Murphy’s Prince Akeem of the fictional country of Zamunda to return. The movie will be directed by Craig Brewer.
Coming 2 America will follow Akeem, now set to become king, discovering he has a son he never knew about, a street-savvy Queens native named Lavelle. Honoring his father’s dying wish to groom his son as a new crowned prince, Akeem must once again return to America.
The cast also includes Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, Paul Bates, Shari Headley, Leslie Jones, Kiki Layne, Tracy Morgan, Wesley Snipes, Jermaine Fowler, Rick Ross, singer Teyana Taylor, and comedian Michael Blackson have also been cast for the sequel with Louie Anderson set to reprise his role as Maurice.
Coming 2 America is expected to hit cinemas on 18 December 2020.
