South Africa artists including Samthing Soweto, Amanda Black, Nadia Nakai, BLK JKS and Benny Afroe are headed to the 2020 SXSW Music Festival.
Set in Austin, Texas, the festival brings artists, fans and music professionals together with film and tech industry creatives for a unique celebration, discussion and exploration of music — discovering new talent, making personal and business connections and enjoying a week of great live performances. This year’s festival will take place from 16 till 22 March 2020.
Moonchild along with local rock band BLK JKS will perform be part of the Afropop Worldwide Showcase taking place on 18 March 2020.
Nadia Nakai and Benny Afroe will perform at Africa To The World Vol 2. taking place on 20 March. Samthing Soweto and Amanda Black will also perform at separate events.
Not limited by genre or regional focus, the festival showcases artists from 60+ countries.
Showcases are curated by SXSW in collaboration with record labels, booking agencies, management and PR firms, export offices, publishers, media outlets, lifestyle brands, festivals, and more. Performances take place in bars, clubs, parks, churches, and hotels around downtown Austin.
