Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak
Released in January this year, the six-part docuseries looks at how prepared (or not) the world is to deal with a deadly virus. The doccie follows doctors and discusses what steps are being taken to prevent and combat a global pandemic. While the series is certainly informative, it may feel a little too real for some viewers now.
The documentary looks back at a deadly influenza virus – which killed 50 to 100 million people at a time when the global population was just two billion in 1918
93 Days
93 Days is a Nigerian drama thriller which tells the story of the 2014 Ebola outbreak in Nigeria and its successful containment by health workers from a Lagos hospital. It stars Bimbo Akintola, Danny Glover and Bimbo Manuel.
Explained: Season 2
There is no way we can leave out ExplainedSeason 2 because of Episode no.7.
The episode titled The Next Pandemic, goes into detail on past pandemics that tore through the human population as well as how ill-prepared humanity are to deal with a global outbreak.
The warnings in the episode from the likes of Bill Gates and other health experts are rather stark considering the position we find ourselves in now.
Outbreak
This is a movie that has recently become popular on Netflix’s watch list. The virus-centric movie shows on Netflix Top 10 and has been climbing the chart ever since. “Outbreak” stars Morgan Freeman, Cuba Gooding Jr., Dustin Hoffman, Kevin Spacey and Rene Russo.
Army doctors struggle to find a cure for a deadly virus, Motaba, in the 1995 film Outbreak. The virus was brought to America by an African monkey and strikes a California town. The film was a box office success winning Kevin Spacey two awards for his performance.
