Movie theater chains are also getting affected by the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
Taking measures to contain the outbreak, Ster-Kinekor announced that there will be no shows that will screen after 6:00 pm or start before 12:00midday, meaning no movies after 6:00 pm.
The cinema company has also introduced particular hygiene protocol steps including the placement of hand sanitizers in their cinemas and minimizing staff in periods when they are not required.
Other implemented rules will include the social distancing inside the cinema, meaning two seats must be left empty between each booked pair of seats. In addition, the cinema capacity for each show will be capped at 100.
Nu-Metro
Nu-Metro has also jumped-in with new measures.
Door handles, ticket counters, and service counters are being disinfected every 30 minutes during business hours. While sanitizing of the seat armrests, cupholders, and tables will happen before every performance.
They are introducing at least a 1-metre spacing between booked seats. Cinema capacity will be capped at below 100 visitors each.
In addition, there will be a disinfecting of high-touchpoint areas such as kiosks, self-service terminals, serving counters, door handles, rails, benches, booths, and bathroom areas.
