Virgin Active, Viva Gym and Planet Fitness to freeze debit orders during closure

As a result of the coronavirus outbreak.

Virgin Active

Following the announcement of the national lockdown by President Cyril Ramaphosa, more businesses have closed down because of measures to minimize the coronavirus outbreak in the country.

Giant fitness companies; Virgin Active, Viva Gym, and Planet Fitness announced they will also be closed for business in South Africa during this period.

Also giving their customers a relief, all three companies confirmed they will not be billing any debit orders for the month of April.



Virgin Active:
To all members, we will freeze your membership automatically and no debit order charge will run for as long as the clubs are closed.

Viva Gym:
Following the announcement made this evening Monday, 23 March, by President Cyril Ramaphosa regarding COVID-19 we will be closing all Viva Gym’s temporally nationwide with immediate effect.

During this time that our gyms are closed, we will be automatically freezing all of our membership for free until our gyms are able to re-open.

Planet Fitness:
In accordance with the announcement made by President Cyril Ramaposa, regarding the National Lockdown for 21 days, all Planet Fitness and JustGym Clubs will close from Wednesday 25th of March 2020.

All memberships will automatically be put on a Freeze, and no debit orders will run for the month of April until we are able to welcome you back into your club.
